ZTC/OER Faculty Incentive Program: Applications & Requirements

Get $1000 to eliminate required course material costs

Fall 2022 Applications & Deadlines (No Applications Available for Fall 2023)

How to Apply

Please review program requirements below and FAQs before filling out either application.

Deadlines

  • Calendar with red thumbtacks on specific daysApplication period opens Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 12 noon.
  • Application period closes on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 5 PM.
  • Applicants will be notified of the results via email by Monday, September 12, 2022 at 5 PM.
    • A waitlist will be developed pending additional funding.
  • Selected participants will need to attend a Zoom or in-person orientation prior to starting the asynchronous training.
    • We will send a When2Meet or Doodle Poll for scheduling.
    • Only selected participants who attend a Zoom or in-person orientation will be added to the ZTC/OER Grant training course in Canvas.
  • The training portion of the course begins on Friday, September 23, 2022 and ends on Sunday, October 23, 2022.
    • Getting Started module & Modules 1 (Friday, September, 23-Sunday, October 2)
    • Module 2 (Sunday, October 2-Sunday, October 9)
    • Modules 3 & 4 (Sunday, October 9-Sunday, October 16)
    • Module 5 (Sunday, October 16-Sunday, October 23)
  • Adopter module assignment deadlines vary.
  • Advocate module
    • Some assignment deadlines are Friday, December 16, 2022, while others vary.

Adopters

Faculty Requirements

  • Attend an in-person or Zoom orientation.
    • You will be enrolled in the ZTC/OER Grant training course in Canvas after completing this requirement.
  • Complete the ZTC/OER training modules in Canvas.
    • Receive $250 for successfully completing the Getting Started module & Modules 1-5.
    • Receive $500 for successfully completing the Syllabus assignment in the Adopter module.
    • Receive $250 for completing the faculty survey.
      • The survey will be administered near the end of the semester you first teach your ZTC/OER course.
      • Student surveys are not attached to your stipend as we can't guarantee student will complete the survey.

Data Collection & Analysis

  • At the end of the semester you first teach your ZTC/OER course, the Office for Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) will run an analysis for:
    • course Completion Rate (CCR)
    • course Success Rate (CSR)
    • grade Point Average (GPA)
  • Section-level student results of the survey and OIE analysis will be compiled and shared with the instructor of record.
  • Results of faculty and student surveys and OIE analysis will be shared with the campus community.

Advocates

Faculty Requirements

  • Attend an in-person or Zoom orientation.
    • You will be enrolled in the ZTC/OER Grant training course in Canvas after completing this requirement.
  • Complete the ZTC/OER training modules in Canvas.
    • Receive $250 for successfully completing the Getting Started module & Modules 1-5.
    • Receive $250 for successfully completing the Mentor Log assignment in the Advocate module.
      • You will need to mentor other faculty members re: ZTC/OER for 10 hours.
    • Receive $250 for successfully completing the write-up of your professional development presentation in the Advocate module.
      • You will need to give a professional development presentation to faculty about your experience switching to ZTC/OER.
    • Receive $250 for completing the faculty survey.
      • This will be administered near the end of the semester you next teach your ZTC/OER course.
      • Student surveys are not attached to your stipend as we can't guarantee student will complete the survey.
