The Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH) is maintained by the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics. The OOH "provides information on what workers do; the work environment; education, training, and other qualifications; pay; the job outlook; information on state and area data; similar occupations; and sources of additional information, for 325 occupational profiles, covering about 4 out of 5 jobs in the economy" ("OOH FAQs"). This is also available as a print reference book (2018-2019 edition).

From the California Employment Development Department, "[t]he California Occupational Guides provides detailed information on California wages, job outlook, education, and licensing requirements for approximately 300 occupations. The Guides offer students and jobseekers occupational information to assist with making informed career choices. Informed career decisions lead to a satisfying work life. The occupational guides are available in two versions summary and detailed. The Summary Guide includes job description, job outlook and wages, and qualification requirements.
