Ethnic StudiesEthnic Studies provides a relevant education centering narratives, philosophies, histories, and cultures of Black Indigenous People of Color, while countering eurocentrism and white supremacy. The four core disciplines of Ethnic Studies are Africana/African American/Black Studies, Asian American and Pacific Islander Studies, Chicanx/Latinx Studies, and American Indian/Native American Studies. While scholars in these fields may engage with a variety of methods and topics, they share a primary focus on contesting systems of exploitation and working towards racial justice, decolonization, and intersectional liberation.
