Fake News? Evaluate it!: Fake News

What is Fake News?

FAKE NEWS is a commonly used phrase these days. But what does it mean?

History shows us (see timeline below) that this concept is not a new one. People have been trying to mislead one another for centuries for many reasons. They might be trying to get you to vote their way by providing inaccurate information about the other candidate, they might be trying to sell you their 'snake oil' medicine or even just entice you to click on the link.

Students must be careful in their use of sources for academic research, as well in their personal lives.

This guide provides an overview on the topic, and offers links to library resources that are not fake news!
