Remember, you don't have to read an entire book. There may be a relevant chapter you can use as a resource. Use the index, the list of important terms at the back of a book, to help you pinpoint the exact pages or page range where particular terms or concepts are mentioned.

Find More Print Books & eBooks with OneSearch

How to Find Books in OneSearch

  • Type your search terms.
  • As you type, you will see options for Everything, Library Catalog, Articles, and Course Reserves.
  • Select "Library Catalog" to run your search.

  • When results load, select "books" under the Resource Type limiter on the left.

Find eBooks Specifically in eBook Databases

Placing Books on Hold for Pick Up

You can place regular library books (not textbooks) on hold for pick-up.

Turn-Around & How to Pick Up / Return

  • The library circulation staff check the holds list a few times a day.
  • When your hold is ready, you will receive an email letting you know your item is ready for pick up in the library.
  • Bring your MCCD ID to check out your hold.
  • Print books check out for 3 weeks & DVDs check out for 1 week.
  • Renew online through OneSearch or in-person.
  • No late fines.
  • Return to the book drops outside either campus library or inside either campus library.
