Strategies for Using Databases

Strategies for Success

The library databases work best when you choose the specific tool for the information needed. Once you choose the database, use keywords, subject terms, and terminology related to your topic. Brainstorm ahead of time before stepping into these deep, complex databases.

  • Business Insights (GALE): Real-time market analysis of corporations, stock indexes, SWOT analysis, and case studies.
  • Nexis Uni: Newspapers and legal proceedings on local, regional or national businesses.
  • Business Source Premiere: peer-reviewed journals and trade magazines to search trends and empirical findings.
  • Newsbank: search the Merced SunStar or Modesto Bee to find local business issues and trends.
